What Happens When Mom is Gone
So, I was gone for 2 minutes and I got a phone call from Derek - Olivia had hurt herself. Go figure - while Daddy was watching football Monday night Olivia managed to climb onto the homemade bridge made of the two Princess folding chairs and the leg of one chair, as it came crashing down, hit her right in the eye. This picture was taken Friday morning - it is healing well. It was purple and swollen most of the week and everywhere we went people lamented on the "poor baby" and her ouchie! I felt like saying, "Poor baby? What about poor Daddy who had to witness the blood curdling screams and the guilt? What about Mommy who had to get a phone call at her Christmas cookie exchange? Poor baby... not quite!" Olivia is an absolute monkey and we warn her on a regular basis not to climb, jump or scale things that are put together by a three year old, a five year old or are higher than her by at least 3 times! I was hoping she'd learn a lesson, but at MOPS on Thursday I caught her on top of 7 stacked chairs. Her "princess tower" she says! Needless to say, stay tuned for more of Olivia's injuries!

Our First Blog
Derek and I decided to start a blog to keep friends and family updated on our life. It seems I am terrible at keeping in contact and so this way I can reach you all via one note!
It's Saturday morning and Derek and I stayed up until 1:30 am watching a movie (our first sign it was a bad idea should have been that we started the film after our regular bedtime), nevertheless at 7:00 am our girls (Emily - 5, Olivia - 3) woke us up by running into our room, turning on our overhead light and jumping on our bed. They had apparently been up a while and had made nativity scenes out of the dining room chairs, tablecloths, bread baskets & napkins I had bought for Derek's company party (at our house... alas another blog story for another day). We were woken up to take photos and be the three kings... nothing like crawling into a small manger right after waking up. It was really cute I have to say.
Anyhow, today we are going to clean out the toy room to make room for the thousands of toys I am sure the girls will be aquiring at Christmas.
We have high hopes for this blog, but we also had high hopes for sleeping in today!
